Physical:

This product consists of one PCB, together with two interface cables.
Cables: One D-sub 25 pin input cable and one four pin RJ11 output cable.
Enclosure: Plastic case, 4.8" x 2.6" x 1.7"
PCB size: 2.8" x 1.9"
Weight: 9 oz.

Communication Port:

RS232 to Vasotrac APM205A
RJ11 Plug to Host IBP Patient Monitor

Requires a DC Excitation voltage from the host IBP patient monitor
from 4 to 8 volts DC.

IBP Port:

The NIA V-Line is capable of operating with an excitation voltage from the IBP monitor from 4 to 8 volts DC. The pressure output is capable of indicating levels from 0 to 300 mmHg.

Displays:

One green LED indicates power on.

Electrical:

Supplied by the Vasotrac APM 205A, +5VDC.
Note: There is an isolation barrier within the NIA V-Line that furnishes isolation between the Vasotrac APM 205A and the IBP monitor. This barrier is designed to provide double insulation at 240 volts.

Environmental:

Operating temperature: 10° to 40°C
Humidity: 15% - 90% non-condensing
Storage temperature: -20° to 50°C

Required Accessories:

Vasotrac APM 205A System with application code Version 7.13 or greater, Host IBP Patient Monitor, and an extension transducer cable that is compatible to the Host IBP Patient Monitor's Channel which should have an available four-conductor (RJ11) phone jack connector end that would be used for an Arterial Line Set. These extension cables are typically provided by the host IBP Patient Monitoring Company.

Theory of Operation:

Normally, an invasive arterial pressure module/monitor accepts analog signals from an Arterial Line. The module/monitor channel furnishes the DC excitation (supply) voltage for the Arterial Line's pressure transducer. The Arterial Line's pressure transducer returns a voltage indicating the pressure present on the face of the transducer's sensing area in the patient's artery.

The NIA V-Line is compatible with any invasive arterial blood pressure channel that provides a transducer DC excitation (supply) voltage in the range of 4 to 8 volts DC.

The Medwave NIA V-Line Interface Package generates an analog signal that is interpreted by the IBP monitor as if it were an Arterial Line pressure transducer signal in the patient's artery.

Equipment Requirements:

Vasotrac APM 205A Requirements:

Application Code Version 7.13 or greater.

IBP Monitor Requirements:

The monitor must have an IBP channel that utilizes DC excitation (supply) voltage in the range of 4 to 8 volts DC. The NIA V-Line will not function properly if the IBP channel utilizes AC excitation.

The host IBP patient monitor must be equipped with a compatible extension transducer cable that has an available four-pin conductor (RJ11) phone jack connector end, which would otherwise be used for an Arterial Line set. These extension cables are typically provided by your IBP patient monitoring company.

Performance Specifications:

+/- 2.5% of true reading over a range of 20mmHg to 240 mmHg
