The Vasotrac System is easy to use. After positioning the wrist sensor, just one keystroke is required to begin measuring arterial blood pressure. There are no complicated set-up or calibration requirements. The initial measurement and waveform are displayed in approximately 15 seconds, with continual updates four to six times a minute. Very slight changes in blood pressure down to 40mmHg systolic are measured. Vasotrac can be used to monitor obese patients, patients with low cardiac output, hypothermia or abnormal heart rhythm. The wrist sensor fits pediatric and adult patients with wrist sizes between eleven and twenty two centimeters.

With the Vasotrac power on,

Taking a blood pressure is as easy as...

ONE:
With your index finger palpate to find the distal edge of the radius bone. Then place your middle finger on the wrist directly next to your index finger, distally. This should place your middle finger over the radial artery where it crosses the distal edge of the radius bone.

TWO:
Place the sensor directly over this point and secure the strap snugly.

THREE:
Press start to begin monitoring. The first reading will take approximately 15 heartbeats.

Important Considerations: For optimal performance, you should ensure proper size placement guides and wrist strap are used, as well as compensating for any difference between the sensor height in relation to the patient's heart level.
